Over $1.9 million is being invested by the federal government to promote Black company owners and entrepreneurs in Hamilton and Windsor, Ont, according to Global News.

On Tuesday, FedDev Ontario Minister Helena Jaczek announced financing for Empowerment Squared, a non-profit that assists communities of colour, new immigrants, and those who are marginalized, to establish the Southwestern Ontario Black Business Network.

According to Jaczek, "We recognize that many Black entrepreneurs in our nation still encounter obstacles to success, such as a lack of access to cash, resources, networks, and chances.

Up to 275 Black entrepreneurs will receive advisory services, mentorship, business training, and networking opportunities through the programme, generating 80 new employment.
