Blackbird House is a Los Angeles-based community co-working space that strives to promote, mentor, and progress women of colour and their allies both professionally and personally in a "safe space."

"I didn't see a lot of women of colour represented [in co-working spaces]. I was curious about what it would look like to start a space like this," founder and CEO Bridgid Coulter Cheadle told NPR in an interview.
