Soulful Colour, a colouring book company owned by Sophia Jackson, is one of several Black brands on display at The Spring 2023 RevolutionHer Store inside Mapleview Centre in Burlington, Ont.

The pop-up shop opened Saturday, April 15 and will close on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, a statement reads.

“We’re thrilled to be one of the featured brands at The RevolutionHer Store this spring, popping up for only four weeks in Burlington,” Jackson said in a LinkedIn post.

Soulful Colour sells affirmation colouring books featuring Black characters and focuses on art therapy as a means of healing.

Jackson is one of nearly 100 brands that will be visible during the four-week event, sponsored by Scotiabank.

The pop-up shop will cover 2,500 square feet of retail space and feature more than 350 products. Items available will include homewares, health and wellness products, clothing, jewelry, books, bath, beauty and skincare products.

“We love sharing the stories of each and every woman behind the brands that we will be featuring,” Maria Locker, founder and CEO of RevolutionHER, said in a statement. “What sets our experience apart is we are giving shoppers the opportunity to buy local, buy women-owned and know that they are supporting small business owners.”

Grace Moores, founding partner of RevolutionHER, added that 50 per cent of the businesses are owned by Black, Indigenous, or people of colour.
