A scholarship program through Reason One that provides $5,000 grants for Black students entering the tech sector through a digital-related program has a deadline of May 7.

Open to students from Ontario, Canada, or the state of South Carolina in the U.S., those enrolled will receive a one-year mentorship and professional development support from Reason One staff.

“It’s been particularly transformative to me; it helped a whole lot,” Ricia Paul told Black Dollar Magazine. “It gives you a roadmap to your career path and allows you to connect with mentors who can share the experience about the pitfalls. There are so many mistakes I would have probably made on my own and my mentor offered me guidance.”

Based in Toronto and Charleston, South Carolina, Reason One is a full service digital agency that partners with organizations to develop strategic digital marketing plans for ambiitous brands.

Paul is now a part of the mentoring program and graduated from last year’s cohort of scholarship winners. Paul added that participants between 17-35 can apply for the grant, which can go toward textbooks, fees, and more.
