There isn't a market-driven alternative for most black entrepreneurs' personal or family wealth. People who have historically and systemically been denied the chance to build wealth are unable to compete fairly, if at all, due to a lack of alternative sources of assets or investment money. Instead, many business owners must take on significant quantities of unsecured or predatory debt to, at the very least, maintain, expand, and seize capital-intensive opportunities.
