Glossier has announced grantees for its 2023 program to support Black beauty entrepreneurs. Six have been selected and will receive one-on-one mentorship, access to programming and resources, alums, and partners like Shopify and Google.

“Since 2020, Glossier has given $1.4 million to this program, partnered with more than 35 founders leading over 30 innovative beauty brands in the U.S. and the U.K.,” a statement reads.

Here are details about the participants:

Jordan Karim, Flora & Noor

FLORA & NOOR PHOTO

Flora & Noor is a halal-certified skin care brand made in the U.S. It’s an inclusive, vegan skincare brand to treat the skin concerns of melanin-rich skin and those with chronic skin conditions like eczema and hyperpigmentation.

Dr. Barb and Kimba, Kushae

KUSHAE PHOTO

Kushae is a brand that offers pH-balanced and naturally-based feminine care products.

Mela Vitamins, Ashley Harmon

Mela Vitamins is a health care company designed for Black and brown people. Founder Ashley Harmon was inspired to create the brand after her health issues led her to learn that 80 per cent of Black Americans are Vitamin D deficient.

Moodeaux, Brianna Arps

Brianna Arps founded the fragrance brand in 2021 to introduce a new standard: longer-lasting, skin-nurturing, earth-friendly blends that give subpar scents, questionable ingredients, and wasteful packaging, the ‘side eye.’
