Curaleaf Holdings, a cannabis company based in New York, has announced it's expanding its B NOBLE products in Florida.

Founded by hip-hop pioneer Fab 5 Freddy, the B NOBLE brand will be available at all 58 Curaleaf dispensaries in the state. It is the company's first social-equity focused venture through its program, Rooted in Good.

“With a growing adult population and a thriving medical market, Florida is one of the most promising areas for cannabis in the U.S. B NOBLE's thoughtfully crafted products coupled with its mission to address the impact of the War on Drugs, make it a perfect fit for the Curaleaf and the Sunshine State alike,” Matt Darin, CEO of Curaleaf, said in a statement.

The brand features flower and more, including Lady Madonna (hybrid) and PB Souffle (indica).

B. NOBLE is named after Bernard Noble, a New Orleans man who was stopped by an office while riding his bike in Louisiana. He was frisked and arrested for possession of two joints and sentenced to 13 years.

His case began to draw attention in 2017 and Noble became a national symbol for drug law reform, its website reads.

Noble was eventually released seven years into his sentence, but his story has created long-lasting change and prompted the cannabis brand’s launch.

Now, the company exists in 19 states, has 28 cultivation sites, operates more than 147 dispensaries, and donates 10 per cent of its sales to the GreenBook Academy, a group that aims to create job opportunities for everyone through education.

“GreenBook Academy is honoured to partner with Curaleaf and is grateful to receive proceeds from B NOBLE's Florida sales,” Noemi Perez, founder of GreenBook Academy, said in a statement. “B NOBLE's mission to create a more inclusive industry by addressing the harmful effects of the War on Drugs aligns with GreenBook Academy's mission and we look forward to working together to build a brighter, more inclusive future for the U.S. cannabis industry.”
