The City of Brampton has awarded 25 grants worth $5,000 to business owners, including several Black entrepreneurs.

The event took place on April 17 at the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre.

One Black entrepreneur fortunate to benefit from its Starter Company Plus program was Stephanie Mayers, a certified human resources professional who recently started Safeguard Devices, a  personal safety device and safety company.

Daniel Bishun, a business advisor at the economic development office in the City of Brampton, said he was proud to see the growth displayed by these businesses.

“As one of the business advisors, I feel immensely proud to see how far the participants have come since the program's inception. Many of them have taken their businesses to new heights, and it's been a privilege to be a part of their journeys,” he said in a LinkedIn post.
