Craig Sweat has made history.

The owner of Black-owned Uncle Budd NYC and founder of the mobile cannabis dispensary movement in New York City — the first of its kind — has partnered with Omnium Canna in a manufacturing and licensing partnership to produce cannabis products.

“This partnership is more than just a business deal,” Sweat said in a statement. “It is a statement of our commitment to equity and justice in the cannabis industry. We are proud to work with Omnium Canna to bring our vision of a more inclusive and equitable cannabis industry to life.”

Uncle Budd NYC delivers cannabis flowers, vaporizers, edibles, cartridges, and pre-rolled joints through an Uber Eats-style weed delivery app all over New York City.

Owner Sweat previously spent 20 years behind bars on a drug charge. Since his release, he has been an advocate for cannabis reform and social equity in the industry.

At one time, he had 12 delivery trucks. But the New York Sheriff’s Office confiscated them for allegedly being improperly registered, according to Rolling Stone. Though, there was a dispute about whether the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) was cracking down on weed distributors.

Nevertheless, Sweat has declared that the company doesn’t sell weed; it encourages users to donate to causes supporting legacy weed sellers.

Omnium Canna also became the first licensed minority-owned cannabis processor and extractor in the United States certified by the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber (USPAACC).

“We are thrilled to partner with Uncle Budd NYC to bring our high-quality cannabis products to the people of New York,” Howard Hoffman, co-founder of Omnium Canna, said in a statement. “This partnership represents the intersection of two powerful forces in the cannabis industry — the first licensed minority-owned cannabis processor and extractor in the United States and a company that has been at the forefront of the cannabis reform movement in New York City.”
