A new initiative has been started to provide financial, social, and employment training to Black adolescents, according to the Star.

Ajirioghene Evi, executive director of Kind Minds Family Wellness, a non-profit that provides Afrocentric activities and services to empower the Black population in the area, stated that "the need and gap exist."

In terms of leadership and entrepreneurial chances, she said, "Black adolescents in our region lack inclusion and a sense of belonging."

She added that several Black youths have particularly requested a program that would enable them to share and overcome systemic issues. In addition, as adolescents negotiate this world, "they desire representation and people with comparable and relatable life experiences as mentors and support."

With the help of the Black Adolescents Impact: Leadership and Entrepreneurial Program, Black youth will have a place to develop their self-assurance and other abilities like social networking, activism and a feeling of community.
